Our research examines the causes and incidence of terrorism, the ideologies of extremism and the texts that are used to advocate or justify violent behaviour. We actively explore these texts, ideologies and their interpretation, identifying and working with groups and individuals who are active in counter extremism, learning from, reporting on and contributing to new models and approaches to non-violence and counter extremism.
Beyond pure research, Orestone works with individuals, civil bodies and government agencies to promote counter extremism within communities. Working with other organisations and partners active in this field, we are keen to apply the results of our research and to contribute to programmes aimed at dispelling calls for violence within religious contexts.
